Nadiia Konyk from the village of Marianivka in Zhytomyr region had not seen her husband, who was mobilized to the front, for nine months. Over the phone she could hear how hard it was for him. So one day she decided: she would go to her beloved!
She traveled alone, without any experience of long journeys, to the Avdiivka direction. On the way she learned that the city had already been completely captured by the russian military, but she did not turn back. She went forward, to be near him, to give her husband at least for a few hours the feeling of home. That was the first, but not the last, trip of Nadiia. Later came Kharkiv region, Poltava region.
Since the first days of the war, kindergarten teacher Nadiia, together with other women, mostly educators, has been working as a volunteer. They weave nets, bake treats, collect donations. They stay together in work and concerns, and together they wait for the return of their loved ones from the front.
