In the first days of the invasion, Lina Rubilkina and her husband were left alone with their grandson near the Azovstal plant in Mariupol. Her daughter, who was military, was on duty out of town. Lina's son-in-law was in another neighbourhood of Mariupol at his mum's place. On March 6, he was killed - he came under fire while trying to draw water. Lina Georgievna's goal now was not only to survive but also to take the child without parents and documents through 31 checkpoints... They managed to get out. But Lina Rubilkina's daughter was captured...
