"I cried for my best friend"

I lived at war for a year. I remember telling you about it in the camp and I started crying about it. We were sitting in the hall with Dad and Mum and watching TV. Then we heard a loud rumbling sound. We lived near Donetsk International Airport. This was a nightmare.

I cried for my best friend

We heard some kind of humming. A shell landed almost near our house. Dad went deaf in one ear.

Dad worked as a taxi driver. He left, and my mother and I were watching TV. So kept hearing this humming sound. We ran to the bathroom. We lived in a two-story building, in an apartment. And the windows in our neighbors' apartment shattered. The windows in out apartment were sightly broken, but not that much. It was very scary.

That humming sound made us even more scared. Just imagine watching TV and hearing a rocket flying by. We heard rockets fly over our heads while we were sitting in the bathroom,. The whole house was shaking. It was so horrible.

My mother told me, "We are going to the Carpathians, to Skhidnytsia for three weeks." I told my best friend that I would be back in three weeks. I told her to wait. So we went to the Carpathians. Then my mother arrived, and we left for the city of Dnipro. I cried for my best friend awfully. I promised her I'd come over.

I really want to return to Donetsk. I wish I could see my best friend at least.

Her name Stefania. I call her Stesha. I miss her very much, as well as my classmates. Despite all that, we still communicate. We can't call each other though, because telephone lines are often cut off. I miss my teacher very much.

I recently had a dream that I came to my school in Donetsk. And I wrote to my friend, "Stesha, go to the school field." So we go out, bump into each other, hug and lay on the floor for 10 minutes.

I cried for my best friend

Then I dreamed that I saw all my classmates. We hugged, cried, and talked for hours. I saw my first teacher, Olena Oleksiivna in my dream, too. I was a really happy moment. That's what I saw in my dream.

The first year we lived in Dnipro, we lived by the riverfront. My mother and I could hear that awful humming sound even there. It was very scary. I immediately ran to the bathroom or to the other room, closed my eyes and sat there.

I wish the war would be ended in my hometown and in all Ukraine. I wish we all lived peacefully and amicably. I wish no one ever argued and we all loved each other.
