“Nighttime strikes scared me the most”

Olena, like most Ukrainians, did not believe that a big war would break out. She could not imagine that Chernihiv would be on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe. When all the candles were burned and the night frosts kept her awake in the basement, she realized it was time to flee. I got on an evacuation bus and went... to nowhere.
