Olena Isachenko, a senior research staff member at H. Galagan Chernihiv Oblast Museum of Art tells her story about the first days of the war. The woman took care not only about her own house but also about the museum. I worried every day about our exhibits and what we could do to save them. She used to go to the museum despite shelling and air strikes. What did they do to save the cultural heritage? This is her firsthand account.

The Museum of Civilian Voices is grateful to our partners – Committee for Ukrainian Museums (Komitet Pomocy Muzeom Ukrainyand the Warsaw Uprising Museum (Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego) for their help with arranging the interviews.
