Olena Letsina

"We sat in the cellar for nine days. Until the children began to choke on mold!"

Olena's daughter, Masha, turned 14 the day before the start of the full-scale war. The family from Kharkiv hid from the shelling in the cellar. Until the children got sick. They left the house under fire, on an evacuation train. Olena recalls how people left suitcases on platforms to accommodate as many children as possible in wagons.
