“In Kharkiv, mothers gave birth in basements. Everyone got united”

When Russian missiles attacked Kharkiv, Turine was on her duty shift. She is a neonatologist. Women and babies were taken down to the basements, where expectant mothers went into labour. Soon Turine had to leave the city. Because of the war, the girl’s family lost their business: her parents’ store burned down. Turine moved to Kropyvnytskyi, where she works in the intensive care unit of the perinatal centre. There are quite many IDPs among her patients whom the doctor seeks to support.
