As his colleagues say, while Russian troops shelled Kyiv on February 26, Artem Datsyshyn got under fire. He was wounded and taken to the hospital. However, on March 17 the doctors pronounced him dead.

In March National Opera’s audience was shocked at news: a ballet soloist was killed.

Artem Datsyshyn achieved prizes at Serge Lifar International Competition in 1996 and Rudolf Nureyev International Competition in 1998. At the National Opera of Ukraine he performed in ballets “Swan Lake”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “The Nutcracker” and “Giselle”.
