On 8 April 2022, the Russians carried out one of the most terrible missile attacks with numerous victims: 61 people died because of the strike on the Kramatorsk railway station, including seven children. Some survivors shared their stories about the tragedy with the Museum of Civilian Voices of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. Here are some of them.

Natalia Stepanenko and her daughter Yana turned out to be in the epicentre of the strike. Because of the missile attack, the woman lost her foot, and her 11-year-old daughter lost both of her feet. Every day, Olha Dudina helped her hometown Kramatorsk in holding out. She helped to arrange shelters, looked for medicines for the elderly, and organized free meals. 19-year-old Anastasia Shestopal underwent seven operations. Because of the missile strike on the railway station, she lost her leg.
