On 6 October, in Yuzhnoukrainsk town (Mykolaiv region), representatives of an IDP association together with employees of Zelenbud utility company, being impressed by the stories they saw on Ukraine TV channel about the roses alleys planted in Vinnytsia and Kharkiv, decided to lay out their own Roses Alley in their town.

A flower shop owners who have been growing seedlings since the times when they lived in Donetsk presented the seedlings to the town.

‘Rose flower is a symbol of Donetsk. In many cities of Ukraine, there are flowerbeds and alleys planted with these flowers. There are 335 IDPs living in our community. These roses are a symbol of compassion and respect for these people,’ explained Lydia Volodymyrivna (co-owner of the flower shop)
