Oleksandr Shaposhnyk

“We stopped in the middle of the field, and a mine exploded nearby”

The sculptures created by Oleksandr Shaposhnyk have been displayed in different cities and towns around Ukraine, including his native Berdiansk. The artist taught the smithcraft at the Berdiansk Machine-Building Vocational Lyceum. He planned to open the Blacksmith Center at the end of February 2022. Instead of celebrating that long-awaited event, he had to face the war, life in occupation, and complicated evacuation. At the beginning of April, Oleksandr left the temporarily occupied town.
