The village of Mykilske in Donetsk region, once quiet and peaceful, has been devastated by russia. A resident of the village, Oleksandr Strelnikov, says that due to the war, not a single house there remains intact. Enemy troops entered Mykilske in March 2022. The family spent several weeks in the basement, and then managed to leave for a nearby settlement, which was already under occupation as well. It was not easy for Oleksandr: he was taking care of his elderly father after a stroke, and he himself has a disability. Later, with the help of a driver, the Strelnikovs made their way to territory controlled by Ukraine. On the way, Oleksandr nearly lost consciousness due to acute pain.
