Svitlana is a Ukrinform journalist who lived in Makariv under occupation for more than a month. She recalls panic and people fleeing. She felt helpless because no one could help her with her mother, who was lying down. Even during the shelling, she could not be brought down to the basement. For some time, Svitlana transmitted data on the movement of enemy vehicles to the editorial office. And then, looking for a gunner, the Kadyrovites came to her place. Svitlana was saved by the fact that her phone was out of power.

Terrible things happened during the occupation - sexual violence, murders, daily robberies, and looting. Senseless cruelty, shooting at animals. There were frankly idiotic acts, such as checking a stretch mark with your foot. Svitlana also managed to help a woman with two children get out of this hell - they still keep in touch.
