Liudmyla is from Avdiivka. Since 2014 her life has been a continuous series of alarms, shelling, and losses. Her daughter insisted on moving to Mariupol. A few weeks before the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Liudmyla returned to Avdiivka – only to take belongings. It was there that her husband sustained severe injuries: he lost an eye, suffered a traumatic brain injury, and an arm injury. He was evacuated to Dnipro, where surgery was performed. Now the family lives in a dormitory. Their home is destroyed. And even after everything they went through, they hold on to hope – for peace, return, and a new life.
