“I saved a dog, and the dog saved almost half the city!”

Animal rights activist Kateryna Zhmytko could not even imagine that the shepherd dog she rescued would expose the bombers. And a quarrel with a stranger while walking could prevent a terrorist attack!

For many years, the woman ran an animal shelter. At the beginning of the war, Kateryna and her son had to go abroad. But two months later, they returned to Zaporizhzhia. Soon after their return, she picked up a dog on the street.

She walked the big dog in an abandoned industrial area that was usually deserted.

During one of her walks, Kateryna noticed a suspicious man. The dog didn’t like the stranger either and tried to bite him. A quarrel ensued.  A car was waiting for the man. All that seemed strange to Kateryna! So the woman immediately reported the incident to the police. The investigation results were stunning: the men were going to blow up the bridge.
