When Russia invaded Ukraine, the native village of entrepreneur Vadym Zherdetskyi, Moschun, in the Kyiv region, became the scene of some of the fiercest battles for the capital. Most of the buildings were destroyed or severely damaged by the invaders during the attempt of storming Kyiv. Vadym's house was also destroyed by an hostile missile. He and his family were miraculously lucky to survive. Ukrainian soldiers did not allow about half a thousand russians to pass through Moshchun, having closed the way to the capital.
