During the full-scale invasion, Yuliia lived in Melitopol and worked as a television journalist.

"In the evening of February 24, 2022, the Russian army was already in the city. Street fighting began. We were sitting in the basement. Fighter jets, rockets. In two days we came out. I went to rallies. I filmed stories. To show that we were not waiting for the Russians, we are Ukraine.

I worked as a journalist for 4.5 months. I didn't want to leave. We hoped that we would be liberated. I wanted to celebrate my birthday in mid-July. I knew that sooner or later they would come for me. That's why I left in early July," said Yuliia, a resident of Melitopol.
