"I texted him: "Dad, how are you?" In a couple of days they informed me that he was gone already"

Serhii lost his father in this war. Pavlo Rybalkin, a grenade launcher firer, was killed during a combat mission near Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, in October 2022. In memory of his father, Serhii wears a wristwatch that the defender once gifted his son. The boxing gloves that belonged to his father remind of him at home. 

The boy told his story of loss to preserve the memory of his father. The interview with Serhii was recorded as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Foundation project "Peaceful Recreation for the Children of Ukraine".
