Olena from the city of Marhanets in the Dnipropetrovsk region met the full-scale invasion at home. She is raising foster children — at the beginning of the war, she had four orphans in her care. Her husband went to defend Ukraine and was killed in 2023. Despite the pain and loss, Olena stayed in the frontline city because her family and her husband’s grave are here. They live under shelling, often hide in the basement. But she doesn’t give up — she continues to care for the children, helps the military, and bakes treats for the front together with the girls.
