My story is about how my parents and I tried to escape from the shelling attack. Late in the evening, a neighbour came by saying that there would be shelling tonight. My parents are very worried about the safety of me and my older brother. It is the top-priority for them. Therefore, they packed up and took out bicycles on the spur of the moment.
I still remember all this trouble. I looked calm from the inside, but but on the inside, I was extremely angry, and sometimes emotionally hurt. I was praying all the time.
We decided to go to the village of Staromykhailivka. It is located near our city of Krasnohorivka. We had grandfather and grandmother there.
All I could remember is that we rode and prayed in the moonlight.
We prayed to make it until the shelling would begin.
Our grandmother was shocked when we arrived at her at midnight.   When we explained the situation, She took us inside and we went to bed. That night no shelling attack was initiated, though. In the afternoon, however, I heard a very loud explosion that blocked my ears. As we were later told, my school was hit. My house was located a couple of meters from it.
All I remember next was sitting in a car and a long journey ... We arrived at the sea. We stayed there for one month.
Five years have now passed since that time. I am glad that my parents took us out of that horrible place. Now I have a lot of friends and my own passions. Owing to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, and I got to hear so many incredible people and life stories of other immigrants.Thank you very much!
