"I am still afraid to walk alone"

I was about eight or nine years old. It was summer. I was standing and waiting for my friend.    In about 20 minutes we two saw an aircraft fly in the sky. One old lady raised the alarm, but we knew what to do. We ran to my house. When we reached the house,  parents took us to the basement. That night we stayed there.

I have been afraid to walk alone ever since that time.

I really wish the war to be over...
