Tamara is from the village of Hrushivka near Kupiansk. She spent six months in the occupation. After liberation, she came under rocket fire. The woman's legs were damaged, her friend died before her eyes.
Tamara's life was saved by an unknown Ukrainian soldier, who managed to apply a tourniquet and stop the wounded woman from bleeding out. The daughter didn’t manage to reach her mother on the phone; she was told that Tamara had died.
Meanwhile, in the Kharkiv hospital, doctors not only saved the woman but also managed to prevent the amputation of her left leg. However, the terrible wounds required treatment for almost a year. With a plate in her leg, Tamara was helped by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, which compensated for the costs of the expensive operation.
