Tamara Dovhych — film scholar, veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After the full-scale invasion, she headed the film history department at the Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema of Ukraine. This was preceded by a difficult journey. At first, Tamara went to Italy, and this affected her own socialization in new conditions. In Italy, she joined volunteer initiatives to support refugees from Ukraine.
In Tamara’s opinion, Ukrainian cinema is not interesting to the world, since it is largely based on Soviet narratives. The museum professional is convinced that one of the greatest values of Ukraine in cinematography is its cinematography school. After all, the level of camera work in Ukraine has always been among the highest, and it is precisely this that needs to be presented to the world. Tamara Dovhych hopes for the development of cinema and is ready to represent it at the international level, in particular through academic publications and new meanings in the context of the present.
