Larysa Musienko

“For some reason, all the missiles aimed at Dnipro flew above our heads”

Larysa Musienko is a foster mother and teacher at a family-type orphanage.  She has been raising seven children!  She took her last child from an orphanage just before the full-scale invasion.

During the first weeks of the war, the big family was hiding in the basement! Russian missiles often appeared in the sky in their neighborhood. They invented games to keep the youngest ones from being scared by constant air-raid sirens. Later, the children even danced to the sound of sirens!

Larysa has been taking care of children for over 15 years. Her own son, Serhii, took up the job of teacher and also established a family-type orphanage. As part of the Rinat Akhmetov for Children New Year’s Campaign, the Foundation’s team visited the families to bring them gifts and creative surprises.
