Yeva's family spent six months in occupied Berdiansk. When russian troops entered the city, the girl's parents were not at home. They went to the city centre to buy food. The girl seems always to remember that feeling of helplessness and anxiety for her family. And also the fact that her mother and father were returning home at gunpoint.
One day, the invaders swooped in and searched the apartment Yeva's family was renting. The landlady published a pro-Ukrainian post on social media, which attracted the attention of the invaders. The girl's parents almost lost their freedom.
Yeva described her experience in the occupation during the rehabilitation under the project "Rinat Akhmetov to Children. Peaceful Holidays for Children of Ukraine."
