Ksenia's house was hit by an enemy shell during the first days of the full-scale invasion. Fortunately, the girl and her family managed to move to her aunt's house. However, soon an enemy shell hit the yard of her aunt's house as well. Doors and windows were smashed out. Ksenia was injured by debris. The girl sustained a head injury. The girl initially underwent surgery in Dnipro after leaving the occupied Mariupol, and later she had a titanium plate implanted in Germany.
