Svitlana Hetmanska

“My jacket is in blood, my husband was thrown back by a blast wave – he is motionless”

February 2, 2023 was the second birthday for Svitlana Hetmanska and Roman Romanenko from Kramatorsk. On that quiet and sunny day, the couple found themselves under fire right on the street of their native city. Svitlana and her husband sustained numerous severe injuries.

On the eve of February 1, an Iskander missile destroyed an entire residential building entrance in Kramatorsk. And the next day at noon, the city was subjected to another attack. The shelling damaged 16 residential buildings, a children’s clinic, a school, garages, and cars. Six people were injured.
