Arina Obolenskykh

“In Mariupol, my grandfather brought us sausages and it was a ‘royal dinner’”

Arina’s home city Mariupol was almost completely destroyed during the full-scale russian invasion. Arina’s family lived under siege for several weeks, unable to escape the shelling. They had to cook their meals over a fire. The girl remembers well how one day her grandfather found sausages. The family fried them and called the dinner “the royal one”. The family managed to leave Mariupol. It took them a day to get to the territory controlled by Ukraine.
