Liubov and her husband have been fighting for Vitalii’s health for several months. The couple live in Bilozerka village, Kherson region. Russian shelling has become... routine for them. So after another shelling with “Uragans”, the man went out for a smoke. And it was at this time that the attack that almost cost Vitalii his life occurred.
When Liubov ran outside, her husband was covered in blood. Numerous shrapnel hit Vitalii, and the worst wound was to his head. The right side of his body was paralysed. The ambulance could not arrive because the shelling continued. But Vitalii managed to wait for help. First, he was taken to Kherson. But because there was no neurosurgeon, the ambulance moved on to Mykolaiv. Only there did the surgeries begin.
At first, the man could not walk. But gradually, the couple’s persistence helped him start walking. Gradually, he is resuming a full life. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation also joined in to help the victim and paid for the purchase of a special plate that Vitalii really needed.
