Anatolii Maslov faced the war in his native village of Matviivka. He could hear the echoes of battles at the start of the full-scale invasion even 60 kilometers away. A month and a half later, russian troops surrounded his village. Anatolii and his wife spent several months under occupation. What worried him most was the fate of his beloved wife. She is a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature. After several inspections, the couple decided to leave Matviivka. Later, the occupiers moved into the Maslovs’ house: russian soldiers took over all the empty homes in the village.
