Serhii Barannyk

"There is already a fight in the house lobby, there are 12 of us, we were hiding behind the elevator shaft”

On March 27, Serhii's apartment building caught fire. He managed to get down only to the third floor. There was already a fight below. During a pause, the military allowed Serhii and 11 other civilians to leave the building. But he had no more strength to move. The man sat down in the street, ready to accept his fate. But he still had a little kitten named Odri under his arm. The responsibility for this life made Serhii get up and move on. Odri helped him once again - at the Kadyrov checkpoint.

Serhii Barannik is the head of the Mariupol organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. The union continues to work and has created the project “Mariupol Unconquered”.
