Oleksandr Korniakov, the main photographer of protests in Kherson, photo correspondent of Vhoru media platform, remained in the city from the first days of the war and almost the entire time of Kherson’s occupation. His photos from peaceful civilian rallies against the Russian occupation were circulated by some renowned global news agencies. He could take photos stealthily only on his phone, as even that was dangerous. Oleksandr Korniakov took risks every day, and thanks to this, the whole world saw Kherson under the occupation. The photo exhibition The Unconquered Kherson originated from his photo reports.
