Darya Kucherenko

"It's like you're being held captive in your own home…"

When you hear heavy footsteps on the stairs of someone's feet in soldiers' boots, when the neighbor's door open accompanied by machine guns... At such moments, Daria Kucherenko recalls, it was scary even to breathe in occupied Kherson. The young poetess is well known in the city, including for her patriotic position. Despite all risks and trials, Daria and her family stay in their native Kherson all the time from the beginning of the full-scale invasion... But she believes in victory, because it can't be otherwise.
