Jana Soroka's village is located on the border of Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. The village came under occupation in the first days of the war. For two months, Yana's family was hiding in the basement. There was a lack of food, water, and medicine. There was no electricity or gas. And all this - under constant shelling. On occasion, the girl's family managed to get out. All except the father. The man was captured by the Russians. Fortunately, he was not held there for long.

The girl shared her memories during her holiday under the project ‘Campaign Rinat Akhmetov to Children. Peaceful holidays for children of Ukraine’.
