“Twenty-fourth February. I woke up. My mum said, “We need to pack our suitcases.” I did not go to school. My dad was at work, and my mum went to the kindergarten. An explosion! She came back. She ran to withdraw some money,” recalls Maksym, a resident of Mariupol. “And at that moment, Grad MLRS rockets were launched. My mum said, “If shellfire starts, you need to take your phone, our cat, some clothes, and run to the bathroom.” And so I ran to the bathroom with the cat.”
