We live in a rented apartment where everything seems wrong. We will always keep the memories of Donetsk in our hearts. Small things, even household matters are so depressing. When we left, we didn't take many things with us. However, we couldn't leave our son's favourite toy behind. Back in 2014 we had other things to worry about. Survival was our primary wish! This will not be forgotten for a very long time.
Most of all, I was worried about my son. He suffers from infantile cerebral paralysis. And it seemed unrealistic to take him out of Donetsk through my own efforts. We used a wheelchair at the time, but it broke down, and all our walks have been terminated. It was as dangerous to leave as to live under fire. Railways and bus stations were no longer functioning.
The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation organised the evacuation for us. They brought us to the boarding house, provided us with food… We started a new life in Kramatorsk. But we hope that there will be peace, and we will return to our own city.
