The full-scale invasion turned the reality of Ukrainian singer, composer and songwriter Olena Topolya, formerly known as Alyosha, upside down. What seemed impossible became a daily experience. The war changed not only the home, city or country – it taught people to live without illusions and accept chaos. It made children wake up to sirens and learn not to be afraid. It took away confidence in the future, but gave them an understanding that the only thing they can control is their choice and strength of mind.

“I am not used to war,” says Olena Topolya. – “Each of us is working, investing resources and time, trying to bring victory closer. But when you look at the whole thing, it’s chaos. Chaos in the minds, in the goals, in the intentions. Like scattered cereal that needs to be collected. But who are these “doves of peace” who are supposed to put everything in order? No one is coming. This is not about someone from the outside. The doves are our intentions. This is the goal.”
