Mykola Bushma, 85, from the village of Vablia, survived a direct hit by a shell to his house. He happened to be in the cellar at the time, which saved his life. The room where he ate lunch every day was pierced by shrapnel. After losing his home, being evacuated and spending nights in a crowded room with 15 other people, he returned to his broken home.

Volunteers helped him rebuild his house. But the man himself says: “My soul is torn. Not for myself, but for my children and grandchildren.” Every morning he dreams of hearing the most important thing: peace has come.
