"Hearing explosions every night is another test for us"

I raise two sons alone. The eldest son, a six-year-old Maksym, was born disabled. He can't even hold his head. Every step is a test for him. He gets tired quickly, and has difficulty breathing due to chest deformities. His mental development stopped. He thinks as a four-month-old baby.

We live only a few kilometres from the line of demarcation.

Hearing explosions every night is another test for us. We hid in basements on the worst days.

Our only money we receive include social benefits. So, our garden and household are a real salvation.
