The village of Novoselivka in the Chernihiv region found itself on the path of the russian offensive in the first weeks of the full-scale invasion. The settlement came under shelling. The house of Varvara Koshova could not withstand it: three shells hit it at once. "Our village was bombed very heavily. And our house suffered especially," the girl recalls. The family was forced to leave their home.
At first, they began rebuilding on their own, at their own expense. Later, charitable organizations joined in. Today the family lives in a temporary apartment while simultaneously restoring their native home. Varvara’s father volunteered to go to the front.
The story was recorded as part of the project “Peaceful Rest for the Children of Ukraine” by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
