Elizaveta and her boyfriend hid in the theatre building. On 16 March 2022, they survived an airstrike.

“The walls were shaking. We ran on. We could not see anything. We were afraid that the entrance could be blocked. There was another exit. We could not believe it. There were two walls and a ditch. A cloud of dust. Two heaps on the sides. It was horrible. A lot of people were screaming from under the rubble. Children were running and looking for their parents. One wall collapsed onto the field kitchen. There were many people there,” said Elizaveta Fateeva, a resident of Mariupol.
