In 2014, Liudmyla Simonova fled the war from her native Donetsk. She started her life from scratch in Mariupol. The city by the sea gave her a loved one, and her daughter was born here. It was in Mariupol that Liudmyla discovered her talent and became an artist with the pseudonym Simona.
The full-scale war in February 2022 took away Liudmyla’s new hometown and another life. In Mariupol, a relative of the artist died during the shelling. Other people occupied the apartment and did not even allow her to take her paintings and documents.
Once again, Liudmyla is starting her life from scratch... Her new paintings have already been seen by displaced people from Ukraine and residents of Dortmund. It was in this German city that the project of Mariupol artists “Post-Bridge” was revived in a new quality.
