I lost my legs at the age of sixty-four.I had worked as an electrician in the mine for more than thirty years.

Twelve years ago, I felt pain in my feet. I slept only for 3-4 hours a day – the pain was unbearable. I constantly took blood-thinning medications, otherwise a stroke and death were inevitable. But the vascular problems didn't go away, and both my legs were amputated.

I can honestly say that I did not want to live after the surgery. My wife Lidiya Oleksiivna saved me, she has always been around. She is always by my side at home, even during the attacks.

I don't go out much. The wheelchair is broken. I have to do regular check-ups, whether I like it or not, in order to confirm my disability. A certificate of disability is required so that the state gives money for medicines once a month. However, the amount is so small that we think whether all the suffering is worth it? Our entire pension is spent on medications. Therefore, we are happy to receive any help.
