During the massive russian shelling of Kyiv on the night of April 24, 2025, Yevhen was in his apartment. The hallway saved him from serious injuries, as the blast wave blew out the windows and interior doors. Realizing he had survived, Yevhen rushed to help his neighbors — even before the rescue services arrived, he helped several families get out of blocked apartments. “Events like these,” says Yevhen, “leave us no choice — we must come together and unite to resist the enemy and defend what is ours.”
