The Russian military fatally shot Brent Renaud, a 51-year-old American journalist in Irpin. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head when he and his colleagues documented the consequences of Russia’s military actions in Ukraine’s territory.
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Brent Renaud. Brent was a talented photographer and filmmaker who did the tasks for The New York Times for several years,” – wrote Cliff Levy, his former colleague, The New York Times deputy managing editor.
