Oleksiy was supposed to celebrate his 17th birthday, but he was killed during the evacuation

Oleksiy was supposed to celebrate his 17th birthday, but he was killed during the evacuation. He became the victim of Russia’s shelling of the Kramatorsk train station, where 59 people were killed and over a hundred were wounded.

Oleksiy studied at the Bakhmut Vocational Training Center; he was to become a car repairman and an electric and gas welder.

“He was a kind, compassionate, and open-hearted boy,” his friends wrote about him.

Oleksiy died then and there at the train station platform. In one of the local group chats, in despair his father, Ivan Yevtushenko, published the photo of his dead son, and wrote, “This is my son, my beloved, this is what has happened to him.”

On April 13, Oleksiy was buried in his native Bakhmut.
