On the first day of the war, many relatives from Chernihiv came to Nadiia's house in Yahidne to hide. On March 19, the house was hit by missiles. Nadiia's husband died at the scene, and her daughter-in-law's father had a ripped-off leg. After that, her pregnant daughter-in-law, her sister, daughter-in-law's father and nephew were taken to Russia. The daughter-in-law's father died there, and the daughter-in-law returned disabled. Nadiia's family spent the last week of the occupation in the basement of a school where residents of their street were kept in terrible conditions.
