"We spent the night in the basement. It was very scary"

We have two adopted children in our family. Nastya and Masha lost their mother four years ago, she died of pulmonary edema. The girls' father has tuberculosis and they haven't seen him for a year. I am the girls' aunt.

Together with my husband, we raise two more sons. And although life is not easy for us, I took the orphans without hesitation. I was raised by my grandmother, I had no parents, and I was madly afraid of the orphanage.

We had to leave Lastochkino for Semenivka, when the house where we lived, was almost hit by a shell. We slept in the basement. It was very scary.

Now we are surviving on from the garden and the household. But we still haven’t enough money.
