Roza Tapanova is the director of the National Memorial Preserve Babyn Yar. Her parents lived in Kherson, her relatives were in Mariupol, and she worried about them deeply. Roza’s brother went to fight immediately and was killed near Lyman in Donetsk region. On 13 April 2022, she evacuated her parents from Kherson. Her relatives managed to leave Mariupol. Roza and her colleagues could not stop their work, because the history of Babyn Yar gained new pages during the russian-Ukrainian war.
