On April 19, 2024, enemy missiles hit residential buildings near the railway station in Dnipro. Oleksandr is one of those who survived that attack. The explosion destroyed the roof directly above the man and his beloved. The ceiling fell on people, burying them. Oleksandr managed to dig himself out, but he could not pull out Anastasiia on his own. They started calling for help.
A fire started, the flames were getting closer. The rescuers got Oleksandr out first. Both in the emergency room and in the hospital, where he was diagnosed with fractures, he was not thinking about himself but about his beloved. Fortunately, they saw each other again in the hospital two days later.
